The award ceremony of the International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival took place at the Congress Center of Çukurova University. The awards ceremony kicked off with the red carpet parade attended by distinguished guests from the film and business world.

The ceremony, hosted by Meltem Cumbul and Yetkin Dikinciler, kicked off with a concert by the Cahit Berkay Orchestra.

During the opening speech at the ceremony, Zeydan Karalar, the honorary president of the festival and the mayor of Adana Municipality, said: “We will continue to tell Turkey about Adana’s contribution to the cinema world, that Adana comes to mind when it comes to film, that very valuable artists are raised from these fertile lands. Adana is an art-loving city, a city that educates many artists, a city that has made an outstanding contribution to the film industry and continues to increase this contribution,” he said.

Festival meets the public

Referring to the festival’s rich content, President Zeydan Karalar said: “We handed out labor awards, commemorated our lost artists, held informative and emotional conversations, held an evening of honor, brought our festival together with the public in villages and neighborhoods, in some places we took our performers to the audience, and we enjoyed the cinema on the gondola on the Seyhan River. Many thanks to our jury. They worked meticulously and intensively and put a lot of energy into it. We want to thank the executive committee and all our thank friends for their hard work. Our goal is to make each year a festival better than the last,” he said.

Special thanks to the artists

Special thanks to the artists, President Zeydan Karalar continued: “Our artists have contributed a lot to make the Golden Sphere a brand and in recognition of Adana, and we have great respect for them. Congratulations to our award-winning and participating artists and cinema staff.

It’s not right to try to direct the performers. The artist is the leader of the society from which he comes. The artist is already becoming dissident, free-thinking. The cinema industry in our country is struggling and this has a negative effect on the number of films recorded. I hope that the number of films used in freer environments will increase. We are a candidate city to compete with the film festivals of the world. Because when you think of cinema, you think of Adana, when you think of Adana, you think of cinema. When Adana is mentioned, we think of important artists raised by this city. Long live the cinema, long live the art, long live the artists.” said.
