ÇÜ CONTRIBUTED TO THE USE OF 430 AURO FUND


Sector analysis reports from the IPARD (Rural Development Programme) III project, attended by 28 academics from 8 universities, including faculty members from Çukurova University, were accepted by the European Commission. The European Union, which is implemented by the Directorate-General for Agrarian Reform of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry,TA/2020/SER0002- Technical assistance for sector analysis in preparation of the IPARD III programMembers of the faculty of the University of Çukurova prepared the report on the red meat sector in the sector analysis reports prepared under the project.

The IPARD III programme, established under the Rural Development component of the European Commission’s Instrument for Pre-accession Financial Instruments, IPA, which functions as the executive body of the European Union and is responsible for implementing the acquis, the budget and the programs of the EU, and administrative supervision, has been approved by the European Commission.

The IPARD III programme, which serves the objectives of competitiveness in the agricultural and food sector of the candidate countries, sustainable management of natural resources, climate change measures and the development of rural areas, also contributes to compliance with the European green Accord.

The IPARD III program prepared by the Directorate General of Agrarian Reform of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the managing authority of the IPARD program and which will be in force for the next 7 (+3) years, has been accepted by the European Commission.

The Red Meat Industry Analysis Working Group was led by Çukurova Faculty of Agriculture Faculty member Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Nazan Koluman, as senior researcher, Prof. Dr. Serap Göncü and assistant researcher Dr. Özgül Anitaş and 3 teachers participated.

Emphasizing the importance of the approval and acceptance of the sector analysis reports prepared by faculty members of several universities, including the University of Çukurova, by the European Commission, Rector Prof. Dr. Meryem Tuncel said: “The fund of 430 million euros provided by the European Commission has been allocated to our country to be given as a grant to the projects between the years 2021-2027. In addition to its important research, practice and teaching activities, our university participates in such projects that will make significant contributions to our country’s agriculture and plays a role in providing an important source of funding. We will continue to contribute to the development of Turkish agriculture with a sustainable approach, in the light of rational and scientific solutions for the protection of public health. I congratulate our teachers for their hard work,” he said.
